Dorset Council Award - Student Acheivements
June Symonds, BA (Hons) Social Work June was awarded the prestigious Dorset Council Award for Social Work, at the Faculty of Health & Social Sciences awards ceremony at Bournemouth University in 2022 for her outstanding work valuing and supporting lived experiences of families. June takes time to listen and help understand by developing meaningful collaboration and linking theories to practice to support in a person-centred way. The award also demonstrates June’s commitment to professionalism, to the local community and to social care and education with outstanding dedication and collaboration with professionals and service users. The award also demonstrates the outstanding practical value that June brings to her community work.
Community Impact Award - Womens Day
June was awarded the Community Innovation of Impact Award at the 9th BCP Annual International Women’s Day Symposium and awards at the Hilton Hotel in March 2026.
This award demonstrates the incredible work Kind Ambition is doing supporting ethnically diverse communities raising awareness of and educating families on safeguarding and strengthening of families as families navigate cross cultural dynamics.
This award celebrates the hard work, dedication and inspiring Impact June continues to make in her work with her committee at Kind Ambition, making a positive difference in the Dorset Community and in the UK.
Race Equality Ambassador - Unity in Diversity Award
In October 2025, June was awarded the Race Equality Ambassador – Unity in Diversity award at the Anti-racism Conference by VOT Training and Consultancy.
As a Race Equality Ambassador, June champions equality, equity, diversity and inclusion in her work and her community by promoting culturally responsive and anti-racist practice. She also helps to raise awareness of racial inequalities, support meaningful conversations about race and culture, and encourage positive change that ensures all individuals feel valued, respected and included.
Through advocacy, education and collaboration, her work fosters an environment where diversity is celebrated and equitable outcomes are promoted for all.
